About us

Our names are Lefteris and Maria Voutirakis and we are the owners of "Faros Apartments" Apartments & Studios.We love the sea because we have been living close to it for many years.Lefteris has worked as a lighthouse keeper on many Greek islands and he has also worked as a preserver for automatic lighthouses,serving the Navy for the last ten years.As the time went by and our two boys grew up, our thought was to continue spending sometime throughout the year near the sea, especially during the summertime.

Our first idea was to build a family cottage, but then we decided to create our little family business named "Faros Apartments" which is a small hotel but an ideal place for relaxation.It is located at a beautiful place called Xerokampos. We also created a beautiful surrounding area which we look after on a daily basis.We ourselves greet our guests as our apartment is located inside the building.We inform them about the area of Xerokampos, the beaches, the sightseeings and we try to make them feel comfortable during their vacation.

A trip to Crete and its eastern edge can be an experience with first-rate emotions and rhythms of life that resemble an erotic play where all the elements of nature are involved: the earth, the sea, the air, the sun with mythical faces in magical places.

What makes the area a top=ranking destination for summer vacation are the quality and the diversity of the coastline. It is indeed a continuous seccession of gulfs and bays for at least 5km of coastline. Almost all of them are covered with beautiful sand of thin pebble, the seabed is fliendly, it deepens smoothly and the water is limpid having an exotic green-blue color.
